Steller Hair Reopening: Preparation and Precautions

Hello Steller Community! We are ecstatic and cautious to announce our opening. After 3 months of closure due to COVID-19, we are proud to announce that Steller Hair Company will reopen Sunday, June 21st!

Why did we wait so long?  From day one, Steller Hair’s foundational values are built on creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.  We have very high standards when it comes to safety, and take the health and wellness of our Steller team, clients, and community very seriously.  With the developing information we have received about COVID-19 over the past three months, we didn’t feel confident or comfortable rushing to open without feeling fully prepared.  What does that mean?

  • Create a new salon layout: Salon’s are only to open at 25% capacity, as well as make sure their spaces are set up in a way that ensures social distancing is possible. This means we have had to store furniture, remove all unnecessary porous items, and purchase the necessary furnishings/barriers to make our space as safe as possible. This also includes a deep clean of every product, drawer, tool, surface, etc. This also includes us setting up Steller Connect to exclusively take haircut appointments.

  • Create a Preparedness Plan: This plan is our blueprint of accountability, protocols, policies and expectations when it comes to upholding the appropriate measures to keep all who walk through our Steller doors as safe as possible.

  • Create and execute training for our staff: Starting June 10th, the Steller team will undergo a week of training. These trainings will include updated safety/sanitation expectations, how to perform services within our new guidlines, client comfort and communication, and understanding the proper use of PPE.

  • Execute a full inventory and ordering of our products, color, sanitation products and PPE requirements. With the current influx of service industry businesses opening, a lot of these items are on back order, or taking longer to arrive. We want to make sure we have all the resources needed to give you the Steller experience you expect, and the safe experience you deserve.

  • Create clear expectations for our clients and staff. Your experience will feel different, but we are still the same Steller! We want to make sure you know what to expect when you come in for your next appointment, and feel comfortable with the new policies we will be implementing.
